Planet Symphony for ENVIRONMENT (PSE)
A Confluence of Science, Entertainment & Business to RE-TUNE the Planet's CLIMATE

Planet Symphony for Environment (PSE) is a unique but necessary coming together of artists, scientists, businesses, philanthropists, sportspersons, spiritual and thought leaders, policy makers and institutions to inspire a massive and Collective Micro-Climate Action Movement (CMCAM) by billions of Citizens and Students even as we are battling a man-made disaster of global scale threatening Life as we know it.

Climate Vision

Consolidate numerous great visions and sensible voices into a mammoth collective that can work jointly in important areas to ensure Climate Justice and Climate Resilience.

Climate Mission

Climate Literacy and Action Drives (CLAD) through innovative Art-Science-Business events and productions to galvanize billions and give them simple actionable solutions that can save the current and succeeding generations of humans and millions of other species.

The Path Forward: Required Action

As Dr Raghunath Mashelkar declares, solutions need to factor in not only problems of Science but also of Public Behavioral Science.  Citizens and Students must graduate from Climate Activism to Climate Action and work with Governments during this phase of Environmental Emergency.

Join the Movement: Opportunities for Climate Resilience

Consolidate numerous great visions and sensible voices into a mammoth collective that can work jointly in important areas to ensure Climate Justice and Climate Resilience.

Alarm Bells Ringing: The Climate Red Flags
  • Our planet recorded its hottest days in 100,000 years in July 2023.
  • One of the main contributors to this is over 40 Trillion tons of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, according to some estimates.
  • This trajectory was predicted a good 5 years earlier (in 2018) by several leading scientists including those in PSE such as Veerabhadran Ramanathan and others like Yangyang Xu, David G. Victor and James Anderson. They further projected that the Climate Change Crisis would become almost irreversible by 2030 and impact every household.
  • This means that we have barely 5-6 years left to address this Climate Catastrophe.
  • This immense issue cannot be solved solely by Governments and international environmental bodies, despite their very best efforts unless billions of citizens chip in.
  • But the majority of people are unaware and/or unconcerned about the gravity of the situation, despite extreme weather events everywhere, be it Africa, USA, Australia, UK or India.

Leading the Change: Top Climate Priorities Now

A few of the PSE’s Climate priorities include:

  • Widespread implementation of Roof and Land Greening, Rainwater Management measures (like Recharge Wells), shift to Renewable Energy to reduce emissions, adopt sustainable Lifestyle for Environment options including food habits, to name a few.
  • Raising an initial $100 Million in Cash, Kind OR Climate Action Collaborations.  The Funds will be carefully deployed by PSE directly and/or allocated to collaborators and other organizations focused on similar initiatives.
  • Lobbying and collaborating with Governments to intensify Macro-Climate Action efforts and incentivize Citizen Climate Action and to allocate higher budgets to Disaster Prevention Solutions which will save billions in Disaster Management.
  • Collaborations with Corporates, businesses, NGOs and other institutions and influencers
  • Engagements with schools and colleges through Climate Action Contests, hackathons and Climate Action initiatives.
  • Creating Climate Awareness Films, Audios as well as Social Media Posts through Climate Ambassadors and Climate Champions.
  • Special events and productions such as Climatrix Symphony.
  • Climate Conclaves and International Art-Science-Business Climate Confluences to raise awareness and/or funds for Climate Action
  • Research connecting the dots and data between diverse studies. For instance: PSE was the first to come up with macro info that the total  number of trees that need to be planted to mitigate and reverse global warming is 36-54 Billion and also postulating that Roof Greening of urban areas could eventually translate to Attracting Rains
Climate Crisis & Health Impact
  • Climate Crisis poses grave threats to health of people and ecosystems and it is the single biggest threat to human health (WHO-2023).
  • Humanitarian emergencies arising from heatwaves, wildfires, floods, tropical storms and hurricanes include food scarcities as well as quality and diversity, nutrition crises, spread of vector-borne diseases, respiratory and immune system issues, to name a few. Without preventive actions,
  • Climate Crisis related human deaths are currently over 700, 000 annually and are slated to increase substantially in the coming years unless preventive action is taken.
  • Independently, deaths from fossil fuels is stated to be over 6 million people every year and estimated to cost $2.9 Trillion in health and economic costs.
  • Climate-resilient health systems must become a high priority.
  • In the recent COP-28 summit in Dec 2023 delegates declared: “We stress the importance of addressing the interactions between climate change and human health and wellbeing in the context of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, as the primary international, intergovernmental fora for the global response to climate change.”
Climate Action Plans for Governments
A safe planet for current and future generations are fundamental environmental rights of every human being and every species.
  • Every Government must make a formal declaration of this and strive to implement or incentivize every measure that ensures this not only for the richest 1 billion but also for the poorest 3 billion.
  • While many Governments are doing a lot with Climate visions such as Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE), it is imperative that citizens be nudged by them to become active participants of micro climate initiatives.
  • An alliance of environmental experts, educational institutions, NGOs, sportspersons, artists and concerned citizens from diverse regions have come together to suggest the following Climate Action Recommendations (CAR) following the PSE-CSD Online Climate Conclave on 15th June 2023. A few are already being implemented by some countries.
  • Allocating even 50% of monies set aside for expensive Disaster Management to Disaster Prevention.
  • Climate Literacy & Action Films and Events: 30-90 second inspirational films on Roof Greening, RWH etc and Art-Science live Environmental Awareness Events.
  • New legislations to mandate citizens to implement 3R at least partially within a reasonable period
  • Tax incentives and/or Fines for compliance or non-compliance.
  • Government recommendations to companies to definitely set aside 40-50% of CSR as Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER)
  • Support to NGOs or businesses involved in important climate solutions for the above and others such as EV and alternate sources such as Water from Air, Waterless Washing Machines & treatment and reuse of greywater
  • More Competitions and Awards for entrepreneurs and students who come up with Climate Solutions
  • Green Roofs, Recharge Wells and Greener Energy options in every Government building and more greenery at ground levels wherever possible.
  • At least one recharge well for every 50-100 feet in road sides and public spaces and more trees wherever possible.
  • Leaders and celebrities can suggest their fans and followers to gift them seeds instead of flowers!

Governments could treat this war against Global Warming and allocate higher budgets for Climate and also get armed forces involved in Climate Action.

Climate Literacy & Action Drive (CLAD)
Climate Literacy is the only way to the right Climate Decisions and Climate Action. Climate Literacy is a must to also eliminate wrong decisions which is why it is one of Planet Symphony's most important activities. PSE has endeavoured to initiate or support environment-centric engagements with students, decision makers in Governments, businesses, individual citizens and the media.
Planet Symphony Days

In recognition of the Planet Symphony’s work, the City of Middleton, USA proclaimed that every 22 June from 2019 would be celebrated as Planet Symphony Day.

The Mayor of Madison Proclaimed Nov 12, 2023 as Planet Symphony Day.
